How to play the Ab (G#) on your ukulele First, we place the index finger across the third fret, making sure all the strings are pressed down. You may need to adjust your finger until the notes are clear when plucked. Next the middle finger goes on the fourth fret of the E string and the ring on the fifth fret of the C string. Try and keep them straight up so you don’t touch the strings nearby. Play all the notes of the chord slowly that way you can pinpoint any bad or muted strings.
